The Pyrenees
Geographically the Pyrenees range stretches from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic, a natural frontier between Spain and France 415 km long and 150 km at its widest point, and peaks, which in many cases, exceed 3,000 m.
From another point of view, the Pyrenees is almost a region which stretches along both sides of the range, a habitat in which the mountain people have inhabited from time immemorial, adapting their habits to the possibilities and limitations of their surroundings.
Agriculture and livestock farming have been the traditional means of making a living for the inhabitants of these mountains, but in the last few decades the main economic activity has been centred around the thousands of tourists who come every year to enjoy the mountains, nature and all that this exceptional setting has to offer.
